Introduction to Pyrography: Jellyfish Wood Burning Class
Come learn the art of pyrography—also known as wood burning! In this beginner-friendly class, students will learn how to safely use a wood-burning tool, how different techniques and temperatures interact with wood, and how to create lines, shading, texture, and other artistic effects.
Then we’ll put those skills to work creating a wood-burned jellyfish design that you’ll take home at the end of class. No previous wood-burning or drawing experience is necessary!
And the best part: your wood-burning tool is yours to keep. All materials are included in the $100 class fee, including your own wood-burning tool to take home so you can continue experimenting with pyrography and creating your own projects after the class is over.
This class is limited to just five students, allowing plenty of individual instruction, hands-on assistance, and attention to safe tool use.
The class will be held at Cordata Gallery in north Bellingham and taught by artist Tatiana Wagner as part of Bellingham SeaFeast’s artist series accompanying “Creative Currents,” the SeaFeast art exhibition currently on display at the gallery.
Tickets: $100 per person
