Blue Tech by the Bay

  • Fishermen's Pavilion 2599 South Harbor Loop Drive Bellingham, WA, 98225 United States (map)

What do marine scientists, boat builders, and maritime engineers all have in common? They all started somewhere, and Blue Tech by the Bay is that somewhere for the next generation.

On April 28, high school students from across the five-county region will descend on Bellingham's Fishermen's Pavilion for a hands-on career exploration event where the maritime industry comes to life. We're talking real professionals, real activities, and real career pathways. No boring PowerPoints in sight. Students rotate through interactive stations covering marine science and resources, vessel operations, and marine construction and engineering, guided by the people who actually do this work every day.

It's a chance to discover that a career on (or near) the water isn't just a dream. It's a totally viable, in-demand future right here in the Pacific Northwest.

Blue Tech by the Bay is hosted by the Port of Bellingham alongside Career Connect NW, NW Maritime Apprenticeship, the NW Center of Excellence in Marine and Manufacturing, and the Working Waterfront Coalition and Foundation. If that lineup doesn't say "we're serious about this," we don't know what does.
